Analysis: Comment

1. CENTRE:

• I notice that the median WEIGHT of the FORWARD sample is slightly higher/significantly higher /similar than the BACK  sample median.

• This means that there is only a small/huge/no difference between the median WEIGHT for this sample. 

• The median WEIGHT for the FORWARD is 110.5kg which is only 18.5kg higher than the BACK  WEIGHT median of 92.

(2) SPREAD:

IQR (Interquartile range)= upper quartile - lower quartile

IQR of FORWARD - 8            IQR BACK - 12.5

• I notice that the middle 50% of the WEIGHTs for each of the sample distributions have a slightly higher/significantly higher /similar   spread.

• This means that there is only a small/huge/no difference between the median WEIGHT for this sample. 

• The IQR for the FORWARD sample is 12.5 and the IQR for the BACK sample is 8

.

(3) SHIFT/OVERLAP:

• I notice that there is significant/slightly/ does not overlap between the FORWARD and BACK middle 50% of  WEIGHTS  in this sample distribution. The LQ, median, UQ of the FORWARD sample is only slightly HIGHER than the BACK sample.

• This indicates that there is not much/ huge  difference between the WEIGHT of FORWARD and BACK in this sample.

• The FORWARD sample LQ has shifted 16.5 up the scale, the median has shifted 21 up the scale and the UQ has shifted 21 up the scale.

WELCOME BACK.

This afternoon at school we had maths going on and what we had to work on is finding and applying rules to sequential patterns.So we got given 4 sheets of paper and what I did is take one home to blog about this was sheet number 2.For sheet number 2 we had to try and furige out what it was about like an example:

5_ _ =1

The correct answer is:

5-4=

So if you don't get it then you had to try and see what it is trying to ask you because how their will be a pentagon and on the side it will have numbers and on the other side of it ,it will have the answer to what it equals.In the middle will have some like -3,+4 and you have to try and furige out what it is like in the frist part for my it was -4 because how 5-4=1.

I really enjoy maths because how I got to learn more in maths by learning what is what.

Plus I also got to try my best even tho I was not that good at maths.

What I found chanllenging the most is the subtract and multiplication but I got help from my friend Aumau who showed the value of Ako by learning and teaching me about maths by checking my work if it is correct.

I think I need to improve on subtraction and multiplication but I could get their if I could practice more.

For maths with Ms Aireen we are doing algebra.We had to discover what algebra is all about and today I have made a DLO showing some information about algebra.This will help you learn more about algebra in maths just like how it helped me.Me and my group which is in Ms Aireen's group is doing worksheets about algebra.At frist I was kind of scared to do algebra but then when Ms Aireen and my friends explained then I had gotten a better understanding on it.

I really enjoy doing this because how I got to learn more about Algebra which was really cool.

Greetings and welcome back to my blog.

I have just came back from doing maths with my classmates and groups.For maths we had to get in groups with 3 or 4 people in it.In my group we have:

1. Me
2. Mary-Jane
3. Kensington
4. Stephney

In my group we had to try and furige out the maths problem which is:

The world record for Men's shot put is 23.12 metres.The world record for women is 22.63 metres.

What is the difference in metres between the two records?

In our group we got the answer of 49 because how 22.63+49cm=23.12.

I really enjoy doing maths because how I got to see and hear people's different strategies to how they solved this problem and others.

What I found chanllenging was trying to furige out the answer which was really hard but then when my group friends explained it to me I had understanded.
