On Friday the 23rd of January we had a whole school assembly.In the assembly we had Rachel Williams came in and awarded the winners from the summer learning journey programme from the student that competed from our school over the school holidays.She awarded the people with prices who came:

3rd place was Cerenity,2nd place Lj and then 1st place came to me.I was so proud that I came frist in doing the summer learning journey less then a week.

I got a prize which had:

and other great things.I really enjoy getting my prize from Rachel and her team it was a blast doing the summer learning journey.

Greetings and welcome back to my blog.

So for summer learning journey this will be the last blog post then I have finished.I am really surprised and amazed that I have finished this off,like this is my second time doing this Learning Journey Programme and I feel proud of myself.Well it is now time for me to be doing the last acitivty for Summer Learning Journey then I am all finished.

So in cinemas there is this new movie coming out at the momment and it is called Blade Runner 2049.This movie Blad Runner 2049 is about what it would look like in the future and we had to imagine that we had been able to travel through time and that ou can see what the world will look like in the year 2099.So on my blog I am going to write down a description of what New Zealand would look like in 80-90 years from now.

There were questions given which was"

What kind of houses will people live in? 

They will leave in houses where they have technology to use.

What will they eat?

Healthy Food 

Where will they work?

They will work at the same job but use more technology.

My Description:

I think in the future people are going to be using more technology such as Phones,tablets,computes and other technology.I also think that in the future New Zealand will look good and amazing for people to come and visit and live here.

In the future people will work with more technology and also invent more technology.What I think is in the future is more technology because how lots of people us Facebook,Twitter,Instagram and other websites online.I think people should beware with online websites.

So in the future I think people are going to eat healthy food just like fruits and veges.I think the meat and three veges rule will be in the future for people to have for dinner,breakfast or on breaks. 

In the future there will be new cars invented,like flash cars that can drive itself or doing something.I wish the best for the future for New Zealand.

So in this activity we had to imagine that we had learnt how to drive an our family had decided to buy a new brand car and we were allowed to choose any following design.On my blog I will write down three cars that I would choose and why.

Here is what I have thought about.

A Ford car.

I have picked a Ford,Jeep and a Voxy.

A Voxy Car

The reason why is because how I am a big fan of Ford cars and it had been the frist car I have hooped on plus we still have it.I also choose Jeep because how I love the style that the cars are so shining and bright and I enjoy the color black on the car.I also choose a Toyota as a van because how it can fit my whole family which is cool because how we got on car rides and places in our Voxy

It might be hard trying to imagine that one day I will be graduating from High School and it will be a time where I have to decide what to do next.I could maybe study at university or became an apprentice,go to training college,travel or to start working.There will be lots of options for me to pick.So I have had a minute to think about my College.

Greetings and welcome back to my blog.

A number of New Zealanders who sing and write songs have been recently burst onto the music scene. They have been becoming popular in NZ and overseas and one of these artists is a young girl named Lorde who is gaining a lot of recognition for her good and amazing style and also song writing ability.People really enjoy and like her lyrics that she writes in her songs.What we had to do was think of our favorite song and then tell you guys the name of the song and also write down the person's name who wrote the song and lyrics from the song and then on our blog we had to get the lyrics from there song .

So my favorite singer from New Zealand will be Stan Walker and one of his songs that I enjoy listening to is Takeover.

Day 4 Activity 2 - Country Calendar.

Greetings and welcome back to my blog.

So I just learnt that the longest running television show in New Zealand history has been a programme called Country Calendar.It had started on the 6th of March 1966 and has also been running ever since.The programme Country calendar has included stories of everyday New Zealanders many of whom are farmers.

So we had to answer the question:

What do you think would be the most interesting and/or challenging things about being a farmer? 

Would you would like to be a farmer when you are older. Why/why not? 

We had to give at least two reasons to support your answer.

I think the most challenging thing in being a farmer is looking after the animals like sometimes they can be very ruff.

Day 4 Activity 1 - Moana!

In late 2017 there was a movie that had been released by Disney which was called Moana. It is a amazing story about this young Polynesian girl from a fictional island called Motunui.This girl goes on a big adventure with a men called Maui.

So what we had to do was read the summary below of the plot of Moana.

I had to imagine that I am writing a script for a scene in the movie.

 A script tells the actors what lines they need to say. 

It looks something like this:

Moana:​ ​Maui, I can’t do it without your help! Maui:​ ​Too bad little girl, you’ll have to try.

Your script should give Moana and Maui at least 3 lines each.

Here is what I have written down.Hope you enjoyed.

Moana:So can we at least work together to get to

Maui:Why do you want to do this for?

Moana:I will do this for my village because how things are burning and going away plus fish are not be catches like they are all gone.

Maui:Wow but why go to Te Fiti.

Moana:Because to put back the heart so it can make nature more better.

Moana:So why did you even still the heart Maui?

Maui:Just wanted people to thought that I was cool.

Day 3 Bonus Activity - ​Modern​ ​Learning​ ​Environments

Greetings and welcome back to my blog.

Over the past couple of years a number of schools have deiced to change the way they teached. Instead of having just on teacher working in one classroom with a group of students some of the schools have deiced to build huge classrooms so the teachers work together to teach a big group of students in there class.It had called the Modern Learning Environment.

So we had to take a look at these two pictures.One on the left had a photography of a traditional classroom and the classroom picture on the right was the Modern Learning Environment.

So I had to imagine that I was a teacher, and I had to also design my own classroom. 

What would it look

like? 

It will have 4 tables with 6 chairs around it

It will have a kitchen

It will have a section with bean bags so students can hop of it and read.

There will be a section  with books for students to get books to read.

There will be a big chalk board for people to draw on with chalk.

There will be one spot where people can go on computers.

What furniture would you have? 

Yes,2 couches towards the wall on the left.

I would love to have some beanbags for

reading on.

So over the past few decades there had been a huge rise in the number of people that had been coming to New Zealand to live or to travel.On our blog we had to write a list of three things that tourist like us,could do if we came to visit.

Three Things!

1. We have a big space for kids and families and friends to come over to play
2. We have a big tree where kids can carefully play on
3. We have a garden with taro leaves that people can see and get at the back yard

What do you like most about your hometown?

I like that people can help out each other by giving each other things.

Day 3 Activity 1 - ​Mixed-Member​ ​Proportional​ ​(MMP)

In the year 1996.New Zealand had adopted the MMP voting system and then in September of 2017 we had a national election.Everyone in New Zealand who were over 18 years old was invited to vote for who they want  to be the next government in New Zealand.The race had been really close and in the end there had been three different political parties which was Labour,New Zealand Frist and the Green Party.They had all came together to form the new government for New Zealand and it was called Coalition Government because how it had included different people from different political parties.

So on our blog we had to imagine that we had to form a coalition government with two other people.

Who would I choose?

I would choose my sister Lauren and my cousin Akanesi.

I would choose my sister Lauren because how she can make people agree of things and I would also pick my cousin Akanesi because how she is good and very smart at making good decisions for New Zealand and I think we will be a great team.

Day 2 Bonus Activity - Shake it off.

Greetings and welcome back to my blog.

In the recent years many people from New Zealand have embraced a new form of exercise that is called Zumba.It has been developing by a man who is named Alberto Perez who has lived in the country of Columbia.He had been the one who created Zumba by bringing different types of dance styles together like,Cumbia,Mambo,Hip-hop,Soca,Samba and other.

So I had to look at three pictures which had shown different types of dance styles and then I had to match them up with the dances names and then on my blog I will show it to you and say why is it that one.Our hint was look at the cloths.

I can tell that the men and women is doing Tango because how in Tango you wear sassy dresses that makes you move around plus it is kind of just like a in love dance for couples.

I can tell that Zumba is the second photo because how in Zumba people wear exercise clothes when they do zumba.

I also know that the last photo is hip-hop because how in hip-hop you wear street clothes and some cool cloths when you dance.

In the year 2015 there was a kiwi golfer named Lydia Ko who became the youngest women in the word to reach the #1 ranking.She was only at the age of 17 years old.Many people from here in New Zealand and overseas had really admire her and think of her ass a modern day sporting hero.

My Sporting hero will be Lisa Carrington.

On my blog it will tell you about my sporting hero.

Why are they a hero?

Because how I think that Lisa is a great sports person who is brave and so storng to win for New Zealand.I really enjoy having her as my sports hero because how she is so brave because how what she does is so tiring for me because how you have to move your arms and he hurts because how you have to go fast to be able to win.

Day 2 Activity 1 - Chasing Great.

Over the past 17 years in New Zealand we had experienced a number of sports highlights larger than the back to back Rugby World Cup victories in the year 2011 and 2015.In both of the competitions our national rugby team The All Blacks was captained by the man named Richie McCaw he had did a great job with coaching the boys.

Over the years Richie and the team have worn a few

different jerseys.

 Now it is time for me to be creating and also to design a new rugby jersey for the All Blacks to wear in their matches. 

What color would it be?

What kiwiana icons could you include?

I would inculed the All Blacks symbol and the New Zealand flag and also a Nike sign instead of a Adidas.

Day 1 Activity 2 - Lord of the rings.

This is Peter Jackson

One of the most famous movie trilogies of all time which is Lord of the rings which was filmed here is New Zealand.All of the three movies had been directed by an New Zealander named which was Peter Jackson.

The frist movie had been released in the year 2001 and the second movie had been released on 2002 and then the third movie had came out in 2003. The movies had been cost an estimated of $300 million to produce.

So what I have to do is imagine that instead of spending the money on movie Peter Jackson deiced to give all of his money to me.

On our blog her had to tell you guys 

what we would do with the $300 million dollars?

I would help out my family with and then the rest of the money that we don't need I can donate to charity.

how I would spend it?

I will spend it on family and then give it to people that need.

So this will be the last activity for week 3 then I move on to week 4 and I am excited.This will be a

bonus activity worth about 18 points.In the year 1990 in  New Zealand history for the frist time universities and polytechnics had started to charge students money to have to go to school.Prior to then it had been free to go to university or to a polytechnic and since that year 1990 students had been paying thousands of dollars to have attended post secondary education.The new labour government had a promise to give it up to three years of free post secondary education to all of the new Zealand by the year 2020!.On our blog we had to tell you guys what we think.

Should students have to pay money to go to university?Why or why not?

I think they should pay 

money because how students are getting to use equipment that cost a lot of money for the teachers and staff to pay.

Day 5 Activity 2 - Leading New Zealand.

Greetings and welcome back to my blog.

So back in the 1990s four different individuals had served as the Prime Minster of New Zealand and those people were Geoffrey Palmer,Mike Moore,Jim Bloger and Jenny Shipley.

So on our blog we had to think about this question which was:

What would you do if you were Prime Minister of New Zealand?

So if I was the Prime Minster of New Zealand I would firstly help those people in needed and then sort out some bad things that have been happening to families,schools,farmers and workers.

 On my blog I had to tell you guys three things you would do if I could be PM(Prime Minister). 

1. I could help the families and people that need help
2. I can help workers if they have stress with things happening that have gone wrong.
3. I would also sort out the things that have been gone wrong and also make New Zealand a better place.

What changes would you make to transport, and/or education?

For transport I can make it like American when school bus's comes to you street to come pick up the children for school instead of just having them wait for the bus to travel to school.

For education I could sort out what needs to be fixed to make school and education more better.
